Game Rosters (Lineups) now available for teams

Tagged:

In order to automate more bookkeeping around your team and it's stats, TomorrowsPro now supports game rosters (lineups). Now you can use your season's roster to print a game roster or lineup card before the game.

To use this new functionality you will have to be a team admin and you will access it through the Team Schedule. Click on the "Set" link under the "Game Roster" column. The following page is where you will set your game roster. There are three categories (Starters, Bench, and NA). Starters are the players that will begin the game while bench players are the players that are available to play but are not starters. The NA category is for everyone else which will generally be players on the roster that for one reason or another are not eligible to play.

The form uses drag and drop to order the players are well and move them from category to category. An example form can be seen below.

There is also a print version so you can print it out before you go to the game and you won't have to worry about filling it out later. It will also already have positions as well as jersey numbers included so you won't have to scramble before the game.

Updates to Team Roster - Delete Empty Seasons/View Roster for Each Season

Tagged:

Team Rosters have been split to show the roster for each season. In the past there was one roster and older players were retired so they wouldn't be shown on the active roster. Since most team's rosters change a lot over the years it made sense to split the roster by season to keep things cleaner on the site. Here is a screenshot of the new season links on the roster:

With the roster split into seasons you can now delete players from seasons as long as they do not have any stats associated with them. The "Remove Player from Season" link will only remove that player from that specific season. If a player leaves the team, you should retire them so they are not included in any future seasons. See the screenshot below for the location of the link:

The "Add Player" section on the bottom of the roster has also changed. This area of the page is now season specific. If you would like to add a player to the team you can add them from any season on the roster, but the season you add them from will be the first season they are added to. You also have the option of using the dropdown to add current team members to seasons they are not currently a part of. When using this area of the site remember that you can add new players to the team and the current season by entering their name and e-mail address. You can add current team members to new seasons by selecting their name from the dropdown. Also note that you can now include the player's jersey number. You can also add the jersey number if you edit the player. A screenshot of the new "Add Player" form is shown below:

The retired players will only be listed on the most current season's page. The current season is defined as the season with the most recent game in the past. If you have created a brand new season, this season will not be the current roster season until you complete your first game.

In this retired player's section you can now unretire players. This will add the player back to the active roster and player's on the active roster are automatically added to any new seasons you create. Here is a screenshot of the retired players section:

Update to Team Schedule - Delete Empty Seasons

The team schedules have been updated to give each team coach/admin the ability to delete empty seasons. This option is only available if your haven't associated any stats to it. If you have only entered a few lines of stats, you can clear out those lines and then the link to delete that season should appear. A screenshot of the link location can be found below:

Update to Baseball/Softball Sports Stats

Tagged:

The changes to the way you enter stats for baseball and softball has been pushed out to the site. Both baseball and softball hitting stats will now be based off of plate appearances. We have also added categories for singles, sacrifice hits/bunts, defensive interference, reached on error, and fielder's choice. If you see any negative numbers in your stats, this means that you have been scoring things incorrectly. Please check the guides mentioned below on how you can fix these errors.

There have also been more detailed guides added for hitting stats on the blog. They can be found here. We will try to get these types of detailed guides up for the rest of the sub-sports as soon as we possibly can.

There were also some edits to the way both sports handle pitch count. We introduced balls and strikes columns a few weeks ago and took away the option of letting players and coaches enter just a total pitch count. Since we realize that more bookkeepers only keep a running total, we have added this total pitch count field back. More information on this pitch count change can be found here.

As always, if you run into any issues with these new changes, please e-mail support@tomorrowspro.com with details of the issue you are facing.
